I just bought a Dell computer about a month ago through their on line services. They said it would be here within 10 days. On the 10th day they arrived, with the first shipment, the monitor. The next day they arrived again, with our second shipment, the computer. Keep in mind it was all supposed to come as one shipment. After receiving the second shipment we realized we did not get a keyboard, which we had ordered as well. We called them and they said they must have forgotten it and it should be here the next day. It was not. Being that it was now a weekend we thought we would just go buy a keyboard. Not all keyboards are compatible with their computers, so we found out. Being very frustrated that we were unable to use our new computer and had to run around to find the appropriate adapters to get it going we called Dell to find out about some sort of refund. After several minutes of arguing with the them on the phone they finally said they would give a $100 refund. The keyboard showed up two days later. Now over a month later we still have not received our refund. I called again yesterday with the conformation number and the man working there hung up on me when I said I was calling about a refund. I have invested a lot of time trying to get my money back. I'm beginning to think my time is worth more than the 100 bucks!!

I agree 100% with your posting, i ran into the same exact situation, order came 3 days late missing a keyboard. I am now sitting on hold trying to get my rebate of which i even have the case number that was provided to me.
I have now spoke to someone and sitting on hold again, apparently the case number doesn't mean anything either, just a fancy way of getting you off the phone.
Do yourself a favor use a competent company and buy yourself a mac. I would stay far far away from Dell.

As another note to prospective customers (stay away) but if your already dealing with them please note.
They will refund you if they screw up, which the lady on the phone said they do very often (a complete order went out without keyboards, that is like selling a car without tires). I would recommend contacting them and demanding a refund.
It is no longer acceptable for companies to treat their customers like garbage, the more time you spend with them explaining this the better chance of receiving a rebate.
