Alright, this is a long story, but stay with me.
My fiance's phone broke (understandable, phones do that all the time) and it was still under warranty. He went to a Telus store in downtown Montreal to get it fixed and they told him that he needed to go to the store it was purchased at, about 30 mins outside of the city.
Alright, so he goes out there, they say it's no problem, take his phone and give him a loner phone. In the process of switching things over, the customer service rep accidentaly erases all of his contacts. (HUGE pain in the ass) So he gets home, the loner phone is not working. It will not accept calls, nor will it let him call out. He calls Telus (from another phone) and they apologize and tell him to go back to the store to fix it.
He goes back to the store, they "fix" the phone and assure him that there will no longer be any problems. He gets home, the phone has stopped working, same problem as before. By this time he is pissed. He is getting charged for a phone that he has not been able to use for a week and a half. He calls the store directly, they tell him that it is no big deal, that he can go to the store downtown and they will fix it for him.
He goes to the store downtown, and after waiting for an hour while somebody fiddles with the phone, they tell him that it is a problem with the Sim Card. He says that it is impossible, so the CSR puts his card in another phone and IT WORKS. So it's a problem with the loner phone. No biggie right? WRONG! He can't get a new loner phone from any store but the one who gave him the loner phone. HOWEVER they casually mentioned that he could have just come to the downtown location in the first place.
THREE WEEKS later his phone is fixed, and yes, he still has to pay for that month's phone service, even though he was not able to make a single call. And his contacts are still missing.
